Springmoor Participates in Stop Hunger Now Charity Event

Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community will host a "Stop Hunger Now" charity event to raise money and awareness for the millions of people who go hungry every day. The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Dozens of Springmoor residents will volunteer their time to scoop rice mixture and other dehydrated foods into plastic bags that will be used for crisis situations and in school feeding programs in developing countries throughout the world. The event will be held at Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community, 1500 Sawmill Road, Raleigh, North Carolina 27615.

Phyllis Mayo, Springmoor Chaplain, has also been taking donations from residents to raise money for purchased supplies.

"This is a wonderful way for our residents to get involved with a global issue at a local level," said Mayo. "I think they will have great memories from this event, knowing they helped feed hundreds of people."
